Natalie, 26, has not only lost 55kg since playing sport but has represented Australia and has been selected in the Australian Gliders team in early 2013, travelling to Japan and being undefeated.

Natalie started playing sport as a way to loose weight, now weighing 55 kgs with determination and love for her sport, Natalie has become a role model for athletes with disabilities and has represented her country in Wheelchair Basketball.

Natalie represented Australia in U25 Woman’s World Championships in 2011 and has been selected in the Australian Gliders team in early 2013, travelling to Japan and being undefeated, both accomplishments becoming her greatest sporting achievements.

Over the years, Natalie has also been involved with promoting the game at schools and other community events, for example Townsville’s community events for disability action week.

Natalie’s grant that she is receiving from sporting dreams will assist her in rebuilding her strength and fitness, after recently having a seizure when she was driving, sustaining 5 fractures to her spine.

Natalie’s sporting goals is to rebuild her sporting career and continue to work towards representing Australia at the next Paralympics in the sport she loves.

The advice that Natalie will give to other athletes is that it will hurt, it will take time, it will take dedication, it will require willpower, you will need to make healthy decisions, it will require sacrifice, you will need to push yourself to the max, there will be temptation, but I promise you, when you reach your goal, it WILL be worth it!
