Trae represented Queensland at the 2013 Georgina Hope Swim Foundation National Age Championships held in South Australlia and has been selected to swim with the National School Sports team which have also been his greatest sporting achievements to date.
Trae is dedicated to improving his swimming with the ultimate goal of representing Australia at international level.
Trae’s disability is a physical restricted movement, which is a result of a medical condition that he was born with.
Swimming was initially used as physiotherapy but Trae discovered that it was incredibly enjoyable, and found a level of achievement in the sport that led him to focus on swimming as a competitive sport.
Trae’s motto and favourite quote is, “When you have something to prove, there is nothing greater than a challenge.”
His advice to other athletes is to train hard, respect your coast and family because they are supporting you to achieve your goals and make sure you have fun on the way.
