Nathan, 17, started playing club boccia in 2013 after a long search for a sport that he could participate and compete in. The Mitchelton local has cerebral palsy and works hard on his technique and his captaincy skills for team games.
He won team gold and an individual bronze in junior competition at the 2014 Boccia Australia Nationals and is aiming to represent Australia at the Paralympics.
The high school student helps with his local primary school’s boccia program and mentors young players.
